The Homewood Legacy Poetry Project took an amazing field trip this month to Howard Community College. The purpose of the trip was to attend Howard County Poetry and Literature Society’s(HoCoPoLitSo’s) annual Blackbird poetry festival. HoCoPoLitSo generously provided lunch for Homewood students.
Terri Cross Davis, a Washington, D.C. poet, led the workshop which was comprised of high school and community college students. Homewood students produced the best work of the day with every student participant being willing to pick up the microphone and share their work.
