Shawanda Evans, Contributing Journalist
Shawanda Evans is the Family and Consumer Science Teacher (FACS) at Homewood Center. While attending elementary school, she began writing and illustrating short stories with her childhood friends. Her interest grew stronger for writing when she enrolled in her first English course, Creative Writing course, and Business Writing course during her undergraduate years at Morgan State University. In addition to her interest in writing (especially poetry), Shawanda, loves all things FACS (especially cooking, fashion, interior design, and financial literacy), spending time with her family, reading magazines, drawing, watching documentaries, dancing to reggae music and exploring nature. Lastly, she feels blessed to be able to share her expertise in order teach others vital life skills in hopes that they will be able to make wise decisions.
